- בַּרְסָםm. (Parel of בסם, cmp. בַּלְסָם) a dripping like balsam, whence catarrh of the head. Ḥull.105b קשי לב׳ Ar. (ed. לכ׳, Mus. כרסום) is liable to produce catarrh; לב׳ דחמראוכ׳ a remedy for a catarrh contracted from drinking the foam of wine, is beer; for thet from beer Gitt.69a לב׳ a remedy for (Ar.: pleurisy. Pers. ברסאם, v. Fl. to Levy Talm. Dict. I, p. 228b>.
